Exploring Blogging World
These past six months have been quite the initiation for me as a novice freelance writer/blogger for hire. This is the first time in my life that I have ventured into writing as a career for money. Usually, I use my writing gift to help others in various types of charitable fields, such as human service, family supportive social, medical and legal assistance; creative writing for entertainment; business development materials for not for profit organizations; or as a legal assistant and advocate helping Attorneys in the defending rights. At the onset, I had no clue what I would encounter on this venture. I thought to myself, “This should be fun and simple. I write a lot, paste a little code here and there, advertise a little, throw in some graphics.” Simple, right? I thought….” Maybe I will need to list on some search engines and advertise a little bit.”
It just shows how little I knew about the actual business of freelance writing, which includes blogging, the latest innovation in publishing and advertising. During this time, I have continued with my personal life as an evangelist and peace advocate for free assembly as a political, spiritual and social action. I have done as much as I am physically able to keep up with my very large family spread out across the United States living in six of those states.
As of yet, I have not posted photos of my family, to include nineteen grand-children, but that is about to change. I am a real person struggling economically to survive and to juggle the responsibilities in my life adequately. It is important for me to show the world that I am a real person, a Grandmother as stated in my profile. So watch for those family photos in future postings.
What have I learned about the blogging world is that it is an immense marketplace with endless facets.
I discovered social sites, bookmarking, backlinks, advertising, search engine ranking, keywords, tags, blogging logs, paid blog company ranking, Alexa rank, Technorati blogsosphere, niche blogs, and that getting published is an effort that involves searching the marketplace in a sea of thousands of opportunities. Pay is very low to moderately high, depending on skills, experience, and bidding ability.
What do I have to report on this experience?
The topic is too broad and too deep to cover in one month worth of blog post articles. I am determined to publish about twenty niche blogs that explore the different facets of the blogging and freelance writing world. Stay tuned in future posts for announcements of these new blogs. Don’t worry, I will write some articles on this site as well, all about my travel, freelance, blogging, political, peace and family experiences.
