The Midnight Writers Freelance Quest

Hi! My name is Cheryl Lynn Gardner, better known to most people as Summer Breeze. I have had a passion for writing for years. I also enjoy pen names, being a fan of Benjamin Franklin. Some of my pen names have been "Mary Sunshine" and "Midnight Rider", which was used for my peace and healing work at rainbow gatherings. Hence, I chose a pen name that is a play on that name, The Midnight Writer. The association is obvious since I am a free lance and sometimes creative writing.

In February of 2008, I joined a lot of pay to blog companies as well as freelance and social network sites. I was new to the blogging world. This blog was one of my first where I got my feet wet. At the time, I signed up to Snapbomb without knowing what was necessary to qualify. Nine months later my Snapbomb account is smoking as I burn up the laptop keys trying to keep up with the assignments.

The experience with this company was dormant until three days ago when three of my blogs met with approval which allows me to use them for paid posting. For the unfamiliar, companies like Snapbomb act as the connection between advertisers and bloggers. In essence, they provide the meeting hall for the two to meet. It is a very social structure with intricate communication to keep advertisers and bloggers in touch with one another.

Snapbomb provides a user panel where either the blogger or advertiser logs in to check stats, assignments, specs for those assignments are received on the dashboard by the blogger while entered by the advertiser. The Snapbomb website is the hosting medium that provides the website with software that facilitates the communicaton.

Blog advertising is all the buzz on the internet these days. Bloggers utilize this service to find paying jobs to write for companies, products and services. While beneficial to the blogger, it is somewhat controversial in other ways.

Each company who provides a paid blogging service is unique. Snapbomb seems to have one of the most active control panels that I have yet to encounter. It is fresh daily with opportunities available to me, or any blogger. In three days, I have accepted about seven offers on three blogs. The ability to post for these advertisers was practically instantaneous. Verification is as simple as the click of a button once the post url from the blogging site is entered into the job site Snapbomb’s dashboard.

Rating is key in the payment process at Snapbomb. I’ll cover that more in my next post. Stay tuned for updates on my experience on a series called “Snapbomb is Smoking.”
